I attempted to fix the slideshow so that it wouldn't start every time you visit here or click on a link. Now the music is muted, so you have to hit the mute button to hear the music. Unfortunately this means that the music does not sync with the slides. But Im working on this as well. (What did I expect for free) |

An additional comment about the slideshow. I stopped taking pictures when I realized the first painting was not going to work. So I started on a new sheet of paper for the abstract. I was almost done with that when I realized I should incorporate both into the slideshow. The magic of editing or lack thereof. Both were done Saturday morning. But I was up at 3 and started at 5AM.
Awesome 'lesson'...I will have a look at many of my mistakes, maybe I can do abstracts...great inspiration !
ReplyDeleteThanks Jane. I didn't mean to mislead anyone, but I stopped taking pictures when I saw that the painting was not working. So you missed the part when I ditched that and started the abstract on another paper...but I wanted to show that it worked out for me to completely switch gears
DeleteYou are one busy, creative man! As I said on Gary's blog, I am jealous you two got together and I couldn't join you :) But I'm glad I had a small part in "introducing" you two. LOVE this abstract - so much to love about it, you should be proud. And I didn't see anything wrong with the portrait; you may have given up too soon? I don't know how you find or make time to paint at all with your schedule and admire your tenacity and your growth each time I visit. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThanks RH. Closer inspection reveals that the right eye was too high. I would have had to re work it. Rather than work through that frustration I decided (this time) to start a new painting so at least I would have something to show for the effort. I was exhausted Saturday, and slept when I got home.
DeleteGood Afternoon Kevin,
ReplyDeleteYou said you were thinking about doing a video and I'm really impressed. Not only are you a fine painter, but a producer/director, too! Of course, I'm speaking about your portrait-turned-abstract, not that weird guy you included toward the end!
But seriously, nicely done.
Have a pleasant evening,
Gary.
Thanks Gary. Yes, I am also a frustrated filmmaker. But I thought the ending was the best part.
DeleteThe portrait looked like it had to succeed...it was going absolutely great...well, that's watercolor for you! Touchy! lol! I loved how you made a brilliant painting out of it--it's fantastic and makes me think of science. Cool slide show. Great post.
ReplyDeleteThanks Celeste. Taking those pictures along the way helps me to see what I'm doing more clearly. I was determined to have something to show for the mornings effort, and I had at least 3 ideas in my head that morning. One had to succeed. Just got careless with the first painting. It was going to be good.
