B Squared Coffed Haus and Wine Bar

Getting Closer:  After a couple of days of scrambling to get 7 paintings framed, I am finally ready to hang them at the B Squared Coffee Haus.  I have to remember that unless I paint in specific sizes, I will have to wait 2 to 3 weeks to get my paintings framed.   I had to crop some of these paintings in order to get them to fit in the pre-made wood frames.  Luckily, the only frame color I needed was black, since my supplier carries that and natural wood.  I haven't looked into other frame shops much, but I am pretty loyal to the I've Been Framed Art supply and framing store.  They cater to the working and aspiring artist and their prices and helpfulness can't be beat.    More later...
I painted a large version of the Summer Lightning Painting for the B Squared Coffee Haus. I'm in the process of mounting it on Gator Board.  Trying to figure out how I can hang this.  I wasn't able to find cradle board to fit the 22 X 42 size on short notice.
My mat cutter served me well for all of these paintngs.  I was able to cut them to very specific sizes to fit the pre-made frames.

    1. Thanks RH, I keep forgetting to publish my reply, so this is the third time. It isn't so much a show as it is a place that is allowing me to hang my paintings. The difference being that there is no posting or opening. It's a great space, and I couldn't be happier with the opportunity....more later. I've exhausted my time because of the two other postings I forgot to publish

  2. Hi Kevin,
I agree with Rhonda about the Summer Lightning work. It's a powerful, expressive and impressive painting. I wish you could feature the others a bit closer up. From what I could make out, there is some very nice work there, too. Just a little small for my old eyes.
Good luck with the show! I hope you sell out.
So, who's going to win the Open? Do you believe Tiger's elbow has really healed sufficiently for him to play his best? I wonder if he'll be taking pain-controlling injections before, or after each round, especially if he spends much time in the rough. I would sure like to see him break his major drought. Age and time are beginning to increase the sense of urgency--at least for me! He's so famous for controlling his emotions, but it would be difficult to imagine he isn't feeling it, too. Enjoy the tournament! Being twelve hours away from the venue, I haven't yet looked at what time it will be on here.
Stay well and have fun with the exhibition!
    Sincerely,
    Gary.

    1. Thanks Gary, I do have a slight bit of reservation about the painting, but I haven't clearly identified it yet. Even if I did, I wouldn't want to insert my thoughts into how someone sees it. I really liked how the foreground came together. I was literally painting by feel, with no solid plan on color or form.

As for the Open, Tigers elbow will hold him back. The rough and those pot bunkers will probably take a toll on him. I'm going to reluctantly say that one of the Euros will take it. Possibly Els.

  3. Hi Kevin,
Me, again. Now that the second round is complete, what's your gut tell you about who'll win? The great talent at the top is going to make it no easy matter for Tiger to pull off, but I sure hope he does.
Seems his elbow is holding up well. Let's hope he can stay out of the rough!! Have a nice weekend and enjoy the tournament.
    Sincerely,
    Gary.

  4. I was watching yesterday morning and when I saw Tiger miss that 3 footer I figured he was done. He starts missing putts and it's over for him...turns out he pulled it together but he has not done well the last 2 days of majors in the past year or two. Who ever has the putter going is going to win, because it looks like it's tough to get anything close. I can't pick a winner, but if I had to pick someone I guess I might say Mickelson. I want Tiger to win, but he just hasn't played well towards the end of tournaments.

  5. Hi Kevin,
Your choice of "Lefty" is a good one. Over the recent past, he seems to play better each day of a tournament. Couple that with a few things, such as winning the Scottish Open, being close at the end of day three and most of all, his go-for-the-glory shot making capability. He's a dangerous competitor when desperate, just like a cornered animal. He may just as likely implode by taking the risks required to win, but you gotta like his no guts-no glory attitude.
Tiger, today, well...it killed me when he missed a couple of putts which would have put a dagger in Lee Westwood's heart. He didn't play so badly, by any means, but he just hasn't produced those killing shots he's so famous for. Lee Westwood simply played better today and there's not much Tiger can do about that. Especially since Lee is utilizing a sports psychologist. I'm sure the commentators will beat to death, the fact that Tiger has never won a major coming from behind. Of course, we all know that stat is meant to be broken and all we can hope for is tomorrow being the day.
With such a tough course and so many big names just a few strokes from the lead, as they say...anything can happen. I'm primed and ready for an early wake-up. It should be one of the better tournaments in a long, long time.
I hope you'll have the opportunity to watch the show tomorrow. And if you are able to see it, I'll be joining you in wishing all the good thoughts I can muster for Tiger. I REALLY, REALLY want to see him win this one.
    Take care,
    Gary.

  6. Hi Kevin,
Well, it didn't turn out as we'd hoped, but Lefty sure put on a show to compensate--a little.
I woke up at about 3:40 AM, probably because I didn't want to miss most of the show. The leaders were on the fifth hole, or so, making my timing pretty good.
What Phil did on the final few holes will surely be remembered as his finest hour. He did what he needed to do to get that claret jug and no one will ever say the field crumbled. For a while, it looked like Ian Poulter might make it, or be in a playoff at a minimum. He was really pumped and playing great. Lee did it to himself, once again. I wouldn't have minded his winning if Tiger failed.
All-in-all, I'm very happy I awoke so early, despite the pain of watching Tiger go down again. By seven AM, it was all over here. It's 2:03 PM as I type this and I feel a little like taking a nice long nap. I'd enjoy reading your thoughts on the tournament, if you get a chance. Enjoy your evening--by the way...did you have a chance to play today?
There's always the PGA left for Tiger.
    Sincerely,
    Gary.
